TV host Kris Aquino and other showbiz personalities are poised to boost the Liberal Party Presidential aspirant Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III in next months campaign sorties in various provinces, according to Aquino.
The Liberal Party is also eyeing a private meeting with religious leaders such as Bro. Mike Velarde of the El Shaddai and Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) which is based in Davao in the coming weeks to further strenthen his lead before the election.
Kris is set to join Noynoy’s nationwide campaign starting March 26 when the campaigning in the provincial, city and municipal positions begins.
Liberal Party standard-bearer and Presidential aspirant Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino h challenged his chief rival Sen. Manny Villar of the Nacionalista Party to a one-on-one debate to tackle various issues. Aquino threw the challenge after a forum conducted by the Foreign Correspondents of the Philippines, which is based in Makati City.
Aquino said that he and Villar must both have competence in all perspectives. Former Philippine President Joseph Ejercito Estrada and Villar skipped the forum.
The LP Presidentiable bet said that he is giving Villar the opportunity to select the topic to discuss.
Aquino said “Gusto ko umabot nga kami sa talagang debate, magtatagisan ng punto.” A debate is indeed important since the voters will determine which of the present crop of candidates have the attributes and desires to be deserving of their much-coveted vote.
Chicharon crisp and truly a pleasant eats among Filipinos will be take limelight in a festival staged in Sta. Maria, Bulacan. Though not suited for those with weak hearts, nonetheless these festivities will surely be a big hit in this relatively quiet town. A 3-Kg giant chicharon (pork skin crackling) in front of the town’s plaza is one of the highlight of the Chicharon Festival.
During the street dancing competition, chicharon was used thoroughly to decorate the costumes of the participants. The celebration also stages the festival of dishes using chicharon as one of the main ingredients.
The chicharon industry in the town is estimated to be worth P3 million according to Sta. Maria Mayor Bartolome Ramos.
The spectators who watched the much-awaited event was treated to about 30 kg of yummy chicharon by the festival organizers.
