Breeders are willing to shell out huge bucks for a mate for their mastiff, one breeding session with a top mastiff from an owner could fetch as high as $40,000.
“I can understand racehorses and diamonds, but I don’t understand why someone would want to pay half a million dollars for a do,” quipped the puzzled Martha Feltenstein, President of the American Mastiff Association as she added, “They have relatively short life expectancy and are not especially rare, so its quite puzzling why they are fetching such as high price in China.”
