An Electric Jeepney (E-Jeepney), the first public transport system of its kind in Southeast Asia, on Ayala Avenue in the Philippines’ financial capital of Makati City. The jeepney, an electric-powered versions of the Philippine icon which traces its roots to the US Willy’s jeep, was launched by GRIPP (Green Renewable Independent Power Producer),  Greenpeace, and the Makati City Government. The Electric Jeepneys, part of an innovative project led by GRIPP, are fossil fuels free to help mitigate climate change, while they address urban problems such as air pollution and solid waste.
